What is TCU Online Boot Camp?
TCU Online Boot Camp is a professional development opportunity for the TCU teaching community. It is delivered in two formats—online and face-to-face—periodically throughout the year. During the three-day face-to-face course and the ten-week online course, participants gain hands-on experience using all the teaching and management tools TCU Online offers.
TCU Online is TCU’s Learning Management System used in both traditional and distance education classes. TCU Online Boot Camp is one of the TCU training requirements for faculty interested in teaching fully online.
Who can register for TCU Online Boot Camp?
Any faculty member, graduate student, or post-doc teaching at TCU can register for TCU Online Bootcamp. This is a free professional development course the Koehler Center provides to the TCU teaching community.
How will TCU Online Boot Camp benefit me?
During the three-day face-to-face course or the ten-week online course, faculty will gain experience using all the teaching and management tools available in TCU Online.

What will happen during TCU Online BootCamp?
Faculty will develop and add course content, communicate online, navigate the course shell, and create online exams, discussions, and groups. Additionally, faculty will gain experience with the electronic homework submission tool (Assignments), setup and use the gradebook, and discuss instructional design strategies.
What will happen upon completion of this course?
All faculty who complete TCU Online Boot Camp requirements will receive a certificate of completion. Koehler Center staff will continue to be available for assistance after the course through additional workshops, Faculty Open Labs, and consultations.
