YUJA Video Platform

YuJa is a video content management system for creating, editing, storing, and sharing video and audio files. It serves as a centralized, secure place for recorded instructional videos, flipped classroom videos, TCU campus events, and more. 

  • Equipped with accessible features including captions, bookmarks, downloadable files, and strong video analytics.
  • Dashboard comes with built-in video analytics, a web-based video editor, and a unique search engine that helps your students review material mentioned or shown in their course videos.

Although YuJa is integrated in TCU Online, many of the administrative tasks are completed through the hosted site.

How to access YuJa

Faculty & Students: To create your YuJa account, access it for the first time through your D2L course by clicking on the YuJa Video Platform. This step is necessary to activate your account.

TCU Employees (non-D2L users): If you don’t use D2L but would like access to YuJa, please email elearning@tcu.edu

  • Log in to TCU Online using your usual TCU credentials.
  • Click YuJa Video (see Fig. 1).
  • This will automatically log you into the YuJa platform.

  • From the drop-down menu, select Texas Christian University Single Sign-On.
  • Click Sign In to launch the YuJa video platform.
  • Enter Texas Christian University as your organization.
  • Select it when it appears. In the login method drop-down, switch from Yuja Credentials to Texas Christian University Single Sign-On.
  • Click Sign in with SSO.
  • Use your TCU credentials and follow the prompts through Okta to access the platform.

Although YuJa is integrated in TCU Online, many of the administrative tasks are completed through the hosted site.

What Can You Record With YuJa?

Instructor Use

  • Videos & Mini-Lectures: record from your office, home, or out in the field. YuJa works on Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android.
  • Live Webcasts: stream lectures live to students at home, on other campuses, or at internships.

Student Use: Video Assignments: students can easily record and submit videos to demonstrate their skills or understanding of course material.

  • Improved D2L Integration: YuJa seamlesly integrates with D2L, allowing you to embed videos directly into your course.

Flexible Video Hosting: With YuJa, you can host and share videos securely, both within TCU and with external stakeholders as needed.

As stated above, you can access YuJa from three different ways: from within D2L, from the web, or from the YuJa app, but first time access, you will ned to access YuJa through TCU Online. f you don’t use TCU Online, but would like access to YuJa, please email elearning@tcu.edu for assistance. 

To log into YuJa, follow these steps for acces via D2L, the web app, and the mobile app: 

Via D2L (TCU Online)

  • Log in to TCU Online using your usual TCU credentials.
  • Click YuJa Video (see Fig. 1).
  • This will automatically log you into the YuJa platform.
  • Then, push Create Recording button shown in Fig. 2

Via Web App

  • Go to: https://tcu.video.yuja.com/Login
  • From the drop-down menu, select Texas Christian University Single Sign-On.
  • Click Sign In to launch the YuJa video platform.

Via Mobile App

  • Download the YuJa app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
  • Enter Texas Christian University as your organization. Select it when it appears.
  • In the login method drop-down, switch from Yuja Credentials to Texas Christian University Single Sign-On.
  • Click Sign in with SSO.
  • Use your TCU credentials and follow the prompts through Okta to access the platform.

Recording Options

YuJa offers two main ways to record.

Windows PC or Mac desktop recorder

  • Allows you to record simple and more in-depth presentations utilizing multiple video inputs from your computer (webcam, screen, mic, etc.).
  • Can capture multiple programs on multiple screens simultaneously, with the ability to to adjust the individual settings of each capture device before you begin recording. 
  • Works offline – upload once reconnected to the internet.
  • Requires admin rights to download and run the desktop recorder software.

YuJa Browser Capture Studio

  • Allows you to easily record audio, video, and other media from within a web browder.
  • Great for quick and simple presentations (webcam, audio, and screen capture)
  • Works anywhere with a stable internet connection.
  • User interface makes it easy to selected your input sources and save recorded videos directly into your YuJa account
  • Since it is a web=based recorder, there is no requires software to download.

  • Supported Computer Devices: the latest ChromeOS, Windows 10, or macOS 10.15 or higher
  • Supported Web Browsers: Latest version of Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, or Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based)
  • Privacy and Security Settings: These would be enabled within the browser settings of the chosen browser you are using.
  • Getting started tip: The first time you use the Browser Capture Studio, you will see a login screen that prompts you to login with YuJa credentials. Simply CLOSE that window and reopen the Browser Capture Studio option again, and you will see the space where you can begin recording. 

YuJa’s TCU Online integration allows your video mini-lectures, tutorials, or reviews for students to be easily added to your course and accessed directly through TCU Online. You can also create and curate class-specific folders that can be accessed directly within TCU Online.

Students can use YuJa to create videos using a computer or mobile device and directly upload them to an integrated folder in TCU Online for you to see. Students can also submit their video for grading through the TCU Online Assignments or Discussions tool.
