The Koehler Center for Teaching Excellence is proudly named after Dr. William H. Koehler, TCU’s first provost and a passionate advocate for academic quality. Over his 35 years at TCU, 24 were spent as the chief academic officer. Dr. Koehler helped shape the university’s identity as a place where teaching, research, and student success thrive together.

Known for his leadership and unwavering dedication, Dr. Koehler championed the teacher-scholar model that still defines the TCU experience. His legacy can be seen across campus—from upgraded classrooms and labs to new academic programs and a stronger connection between academics and athletics.
