Foundations in Teaching

TCU faculty and graduate students develop core teaching skills applicable across the disciplines during Foundations in Teaching – FiT. This multi-session series follows a flipped model of pre-work to build foundational knowledge followed by sessions with hands-on activities and collaborative problem-solving. Based on James Lang’s Small Teaching: Everyday Lessons from the Science of Learning (2nd ed.), FiT offers practical strategies and ideas and utilizes a “small teaching” approach, focused on incremental yet powerful changes your teaching in higher education.

FiT is offered each semester with enrollment caps. Because the sessions are interrelated and the learning community vital, participants must be able to attend all scheduled workshops.
