Faculty Workflow & Process Lab

Making the work visible to students

Who can participate?

Any TCU faculty member interested in developing clearer, more sustainable systems for managing the work of faculty life is welcome to participate.

What is the focus of this FIG?

Many aspects of faculty work and coordination are invisible, operational, and rarely taught.

This FIG will bring faculty together to examine the processes, decisions, coordination, and organizational work required to function effectively in increasingly complex academic roles. Together we will explore practical ways to make the work visible, reduce unnecessary operational friction, and intentionally design systems that support faculty effectiveness and well-being.

This FIG is meant for faculty across disciplines, ranks, and appointment type – including faculty whose responsibilities extend beyond traditional teaching, scholarship, and service into program coordination, administration, accreditation, clinical or experiential education, assessment, project leadership, committee leadership, or other operational responsibilities.

Whether you are still learning how to navigate academic work, managing a complex faculty or coordinator role, or has developed systems they would like to share with others, come join us!
