What is New to TCU Faculty Orientation?
New to TCU Faculty Orientation welcomes new full-time and adjunct faculty to the TCU community of scholars. During orientation, faculty learn about the services and resources related to their careers as TCU teacher-scholars. Faculty will become familiar with the TCU student, as well as TCU’s culture and community. This event will focus on immediately applicable advice about succeeding as TCU faculty member.
What are the benefits?
This day will familiarize new faculty members with TCU culture and resources needed to be ready to start as TCU teacher-scholars.
Who can Register
Any new faculty member at TCU can attend.
How to Register
New to TCU Faculty Orientation occurs two times a year: January and August. Faculty can register on our Workshops & Events page, or call the Koehler Center at 817-257-7434, or email faculty development to receive more information.
You must register for New to TCU Faculty Orientation in order to attend.
Prior to Orientation
Prior to New to TCU Faculty Orientation faculty will receive a New Faculty email from the Koehler Center. In this email, faculty will find a welcome letter from the Provost detailing the time, date, and location of the New to TCU Faculty Orientation.
Faculty must RSVP for the orientation and explore our New to TCU web pages to access resources prior to attending the orientation. Faculty also should consider making a list of any questions they might have about being ready for their first days at TCU.
Our Chancellor and Provost, as well as other members of the TCU community, will welcome new faculty. Full-time faculty will have the opportunity to discuss benefits with Human Resources. One of the major highlights of orientation is the chance to meet a panel of TCU students and discuss their views of effective teaching.
After orientation faculty will receive announcements from the Koehler Center about upcoming professional development opportunities, including an opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and discuss your TCU experience.
