What is New to TCU Faculty Orientation?
New to TCU Faculty Orientation welcomes new full-time and adjunct faculty to the TCU community of scholars. Orientation provides new faculty with a chance to meet fellow new faculty members, have Q&A sessions with some key departments, and even ask questions of a few TCU students during the student panel.
What are the benefits?
During orientation, new faculty learn about the services and resources related to their careers as TCU teacher-scholars. Faculty will become familiar with the TCU student population, as well as TCU’s culture and community. This event will focus on immediately applicable advice about succeeding as a TCU faculty member.
Prior to Orientation
Prior to New to TCU Faculty Orientation, faculty will receive a New Faculty email from the Koehler Center. In this email, faculty will find a welcome letter from the Provost detailing the time, date, and location of the New to TCU Faculty Orientation.
Prior to attending your orientation session, new faculty should view the content on the New to TCU webpage, especially the New to Campus Information and the Orientation Videos. Faculty also should consider making a list of any questions they might have about being ready for their first days at TCU.
Our Chancellor and Provost, as well as other members of the TCU community, will welcome new faculty. Full-time faculty will have the opportunity to discuss benefits with Human Resources. One of the major highlights of orientation is the chance to meet a panel of TCU students and discuss their views of effective teaching.
After orientation faculty will receive announcements from the Koehler Center about upcoming professional development opportunities, including an opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and discuss your TCU experience.
