In the Fall of 2015, TCU welcomed its largest freshman class at 2,072 students. While early projections for the next freshman class are around 1900, this increase in students creates real pressure points in and out of the classroom. How do we use our knowledge and understanding of millennials as well as specific information about the TCU freshman class to alleviate the strain? How do we effectively teach students who have access to instant information and think they know all there is to know? During this session, we will share TCU class specific data and how that relates to nationwide statistics on the Millenial generation. We will also use TCU student feedback to illustrate and highlight how faculty have actively engaged and connected with students, especially those in larger classroom settings. Finally, we will share some techniques and suggestions that may help faculty to deliver necessary content in a student-desired format.
