Outcomes 1.1, 1.2While the Middle East and the Muslim World have become more topical, confusion around and stereotyping of Middle Eastern culture and politics underline the polarization of these issues for some of our students and our broader community. The focus in this conversation is how to engage our students in discussions around various topics, such as the terror of ISIS, honor killing and gender-based violence in the Middle East, Muslim minorities in the West, non-Muslim minorities in Muslim societies, without slipping the discussion into pitfalls of Islamophobia and other forms of racism.
