First year student cohorts nationally and locally have diversified rapidly over the last few decades. This structured conversation will inform faculty on the latest data regarding first year student cohorts from the CIRP national Freshman Survey out of the Higher Education Research Institute. Additionally, we will identify themes for the most recent incoming classes at TCU including data obtained during the Orientation and Frog Camp experience prior to the start of the fall semester. Faculty will have the opportunity to share personal challenges faced with first year students in the classroom. Together we will discuss strategies to connect first year students with on-campus resources.
