The Competencies tool within TCU Online can be used to show how TCU Core, program, or department learning goals relate to course learning objectives, course activities, and course assessment standards used to evaluate student work. Making these relationships transparent and explicit helps students connect the individual activities and assignments with the overarching skills, learning outcomes, and course goals.
This demo will show you how to set up hierarchical relationships among competencies, learning outcomes, course activities, and assessment criteria. This demo will also show you how to enable completion tracking, and set thresholds for learning objective completion so you and your students can view progress toward meeting the course goals and learning outcomes. We will discuss the various options for completion tracking so that you can choose the best settings for your course.
