Outcomes 1.1, 1.2, 2.1How do you know if students connected with course content on a given day? By the time you give an exam or collect a paper, it’s often too late to correct misunderstandings. Strategies introduced in this workshop will help you monitor student learning to provide specific and timely feedback, help students focus on learning priorities and identify their strengths and weaknesses, and provide you with insight to guide and adjust instruction.

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Monitor student progress and performance.
  • Identify patterns in student responses.
  • Scaffold student learning using students’ prior knowledge.
  • Use guiding questions to focus on re-teaching key concepts.
