FIC groups focus on teaching and learning topics such as teaching cultural awareness or engaging students in research. FIC groups usually have between five and thirty members, and meet at least twice a semester about the shared interest or teaching and learning topic. FIC members decide when to schedule the meetings and set the agendas. Each FIC has a coordinator who takes responsibility for maintaining the group, and who works with the Koehler Center on meeting logistics if desired. A stipend is available for FIC coordinators, as well as a small budget for materials for the FIC group to use for their specific topic.
This is one of two luncheons to discuss and gather topics for new Faculty Interdisciplinary Connection groups that will launch in Spring 2018.
