Outcomes 1.1, 1.2, 1.3Are your course materials or department documents accessible to all users? In this workshop, learn how to check your Microsoft Word documents using built-in accessibility checker, and use accessibility guidelines to build accessible documents. All TCU faculty, staff and students are welcome to attend this workshop.

At the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Explain who is responsible for creating accessible content and why it is important to create accessible content.
  • Assess previously created documents using the built-in Microsoft Word accessibility checker and accessibility guidelines and resolve issues identified.
  • Apply the accessibility guidelines into new documents you create in Microsoft Word.

We recommend all participants, prior to the workshop, contact TCU IT to upgrade to the latest version of Microsoft Office on your TCU computers. This will make sure you have access to the built in accessibility checkers you will use during and beyond the workshop.
