Outcomes 1.1, 1.2, 2.1Have you ever wondered why we tend to shy away from conversations related to Identity, Oppression, Power, and Privilege in the classroom? Have you ever wondered why so many of us find it challenging to address Racial Microaggressions, Intersectionality, and Stereotype Threat within academic spaces? The focus of this workshop is to learn how to more effectively integrate culturally responsive pedagogy into our daily classroom practices. Participants will develop strategies to enhance their awareness, sensitivities, knowledge, and understanding for how to best foster learning experiences where students feel safe, respected, connected, and engaged.
